There is a musicians union hall on Bardstown Road, too . . . They might be able to get you some work.

start getting connected:

New2Lou

The city is teeming with new artists/musicians like yourself. I would suggest one of their events to start meeting some people. Get yourself out in the open.

Curious on behalf of the younger crowd, what is the EDM(electronic dance music) Scene like in Louisville at the moment?

We always support local talent. If you are mellow jazz, dont forget to solicit restaurant owners. Local wineries use musicians during tasting events too. I hope if you get something you will put the gig on this board so we can come out and support you and your band.
I worked for band in Philly that opened for all the one-hit wonder bands that came through the tri-state area, 1981-1983. It was, unequivocally the funnest and most memorable time of my life.
I hope your/anyones music career does the same for you/them.

I don't know too much about the jazz scene in Louisville in particular, but you did mention traveling to other regional sites. Indy has the Jazz kitchen in the Broad Ripple area. I liked it when I was there and now that Indy has a smoking ban, it should be a little easier on the singers. It's worth checking out:
