Researching Bardstown & I can't seem to find local residents posting any information on great parts of the area nor bad sections to stay the heck away from.I found out there is NOOOO car service /cabs to get around either.I was looking into finding a neighborhood which is very family based , close to schools, & near downtown shopping. No Getto ,No Low Class ,ETC ... Middle class !How the heck do u find a house rental to relocate too ? Can a local resident tell me any information on how to rent a house & what area is best ?Also what a 3-4 bedroom would cost ? How much does electric cost etc ? do you have to pay for water or garbage removal? I love this town & want to move there next year !!!

You posted you question in the "Louisville" area and if your referring to Bardstown, Kentucky, then you've posted in the wrong forum. Or maybe your referring to Bardstown Road in Louisville. You didn't specify and there is a huge difference.

There is a huge difference, yet, Nelson County is most definitely a Louisville suburb and thus this is definitely the appropriate forum. The Louisville metro area encompasses 13 counties and IMO it is more appropriate we discuss those areas here rather than the KY forum as the LOuisville MSA is its own unique beast, much different than the rest of KY.w

Bardstown was voted as one of the best small cities to live in I think last year.. You might want to check out the Nelson County Gazette | Get it first. Get it fast. Get the Gazette.. As for neighborhoods most of them are pretty good.. As for previous posters saying ask in the Bardstown forum I do not think there is one associated with City Data.. Thats why they put it down as Louisville area and Lexington area..

Renting a home in a smaller town can be quite a challenge, you might also want to try Louisville's Craigslist (sometimes smaller cities nearby will be included) or I think maybe contact a realtor.

Great videos! It makes me want to come check out Bardstown again. It has been quite some time since I have been out that way. Looks like a gem...another reason I think KY is one of the best kept secrets in America.

My Wife says the same thing. Ive never been there, but its on my "visit" list for sure. Sad, because Im very close. I really need to get out more

The news is filled with stories of a "Big Money Gang" or some such nonsense as causing trouble and possibly having to do with the policemans murder. Are gangs a presence there ? Do they have their version of our West Side? Im just curious. Louisville made an episode of SPIKE channels "Gangland" for having one of the largest Klan sects in the country
What is it with these people!?!?!?

This leader is the mayor of Bardstown nephew Police arrest suspected leader of 'Bardstown Money Gang' | WHAS11.com Louisville

The nephew made a comment about this is what happens to the police when they interfear ..reffering to the dead cop they r still on the hunt for the killer of...Police: Nephew of Ky. mayor charged following 'gang' attack~ Police: Nephew of Ky. mayor charged following 'gang' attack | WHAS11.com Louisville
This nephew could be or know who the killer is and having a uncle for the mayor could hide many facts here... Something is very fishy here ~ Black youth gangs are always the trouble in every city , bringing drugs, guns, & crime .It's sad ~Just saying .Coming from NYC we are surrounded by this garbage & believe me, they do this because they know they can.Bardstown needs to asign a undercover task force to wipe them members out ASAP.It's 2013 and i'm surprized they are not ahead of this already.Maybe that is why the cop was killed ..he was on to them ! They always say to follow the trail.

Is that the KKK KLAN on that show Gangland that your reffering too ?
