I just returned from a business trip to Louisville, KY. It was my first time, and I wasn't sure what to expect. From the time I landed at the airport I was just amazed at how genuinely friendly the people were. I even had a woman, whom I sat next to on the plane, ask if I needed a ride to downtown. I was shocked, this type of genorosity would never happen in DC where I live. Everywhere I went from the hotel to the restaurants,to just walking down the street, people were friendly and showed me nothing but kindness and hospitality. Also, downtown Louisville is well kept, and very clean. I plan to visit again very soon when I'm not on business to truly enjoy the city on my own leisure time. Keep up the good work, and as your slogan says and to which I now believe "Anything is possible in Louisville!!!

We had the same experiences when we visited.
Two years later -- we live here!

Shhh! I discovered Louisville a decade ago and it keeps getting better. It is still a fairly well kept secret Glad you enjoyed your stay. And if you found downtown appealing, just wait until you go back and explore the neighboroods. Like a mini Chicago, it is truly a city of amazing neighborhoods with many great nooks and crannies, great architecture, walkability, parks, and some of the friendliest people in America.

What a great thread header post!

Sometimes I think I see Louisville through rose colored glasses (I tend to be a bit of a "Lousville Evangelist") since I spent some formative years there and still have family there, but the OPs post is perhaps an indicator that the place is as great as I think it is.

Everyone whom I spoke with who has visited Louisville say how beautiful it is and how nice the people are! I agree with the original poster. It's so refreshing knowing there are such generous and genuine people in this cruel world. Like a rainbow during the rain. Keep it up!
