I'm new to Kentucky, and wonder if anyone can recommend some good holiday events in the Louisville area. We're looking at the Louisville Ballet's production of the Nutcracker at the Kentucky Center, but does anyone have any ideas on other Christmas activities? We're two adults, no children.

Thanks!

Lights Under Louisville | Louisville Mega Cavern

Ice rinks open in Jeffersonville, 4th Street Live! - WDRB 41 Louisville News

Those two links are about "Lights Under Louisville" and the outdoor skating rinks in Jeffersonville, IN and downtown Louisville. They might be too kiddie for you but I would go to the ice rink if I could...

The Galt House has several different events going on during the holiday season that are well worth it. Kentucky horse Park, outside of Lexington does a huge drive-through display that is much better than the mega cavern "Lights under Louisville" IMHO.

Has anyone been to the KaLightoscope attraction at the Galt House? Would it be fun for two older adults who're still in touch with their inner child? Hubby and I are thinking about an outing from Cincinnati, including a Hot Brown at the Brown.

Following up my own post to say that the entire Galt House Christmas attraction was delightful. Hubby and I are 60-something and we had a great time--it really is for all ages. We may have enjoyed the extensive displays of the animated figures even more than the amazing Kalightoscope displays. And of course lunch at the Brown was delicious, too. We'll be back next year!

Funny this thread was bumped - I just drove home from Lexington, and was thinking on the way back about how guilty I felt about not following up on it. But thanks, everyone, I really appreciate the advice! I'm keeping all of this in mind for next year. We'll be moving back up to Louisville in the spring, so we'll be much closer and more "in touch" with the happenings there next Christmas season.
