Last I heard, they are holding out for the economy to improve. That said, a local company is about to build a new store that should be prettycool....no GTrader Joe's but pretty good for meat and produce. There are also many other great local grocery stores, among them Rainbow Blossom and ValuMarket:

We drive to Cincy once every 6 weeks and go to the mall and to Trader Joe's to stock up. We bring our big freezer bags and make it a fun outing. It is a beautiful drive down Highway 42 - then we take the freeway back. For now that is all we can do. I think Trader Joe's would really give Whole Foods and Fresh Market a run for their money.

The Cincy Trader Joes is quite convenient for Louisville foodies. It's right off an I-71 exit, easy on/easy off. About 1.5 to 2 hrs drive (depending on traffic and weather).

If one is travelling to Cincy for Trader Joes take a side trip to the Findlay Market as it's on the way, not too far off the interstate in an old neighborhood north of downtown Cincy. Findlay has fresh meats, sausages, spices, etc in the old market house, produce outside, and also delicatessens in neighboring buidlings where one can get good rye bread, fish, and cheeses. If you like Trader Joes and are into quality food Findlay is a must-visit side trip.

Louisville has nothing like this.

I'd love to know if they carry low carb products. Almost no one does any more, other than a few products.

This is great news. Hope it happens! I could see parking being an issue in that front section of the Shelbyville Road plaza, though. Wonder why they wouldn't go with one of the spaces that are already standing empty further back? Too big?
