Yes it's me again- After emailing and speaking with several nice Kentuckians, Im' torn about what to do. I want to relocate to Louisville badly, but as an out of stater, I realize the chances of me getting a decent job over a local is slim to none. I'm wondering , given the Louisville job market, the idea of moving there first with a 5-6 month living expenses saved up, then looking.
Is that agood idea or too risky? If the job market is anything like up here in SE Wi I'd say no way, but maybe it's abit better there? Either way what do yuo Louisvillians think? THanks yet again!!!

The job market in Louisville is better than the Milwaukee area, and the city is growing faster. Like any city's employers, Louisville's companies will hire the best candidate for any given position. They do not give preference to locals, so I am unsure what you mean by that. What field are you in?

Hello- I'm currently in the purchasing field. I have a background in electrical & manu purchasing. companies here expect you to walk on water for just a 10/hr temp to hire.

MY salary requirements are not unreasonable, just looking for fair market salary. FRustratign market here, employers WAy too full of themselves.

the only reason I brought up the local preference was that a few Knoxville, TN companies and recruiters have told me locals get first priority.

Once you are down there, you are a local

Its a risk as much as any... but if you can tolerate getting a job in-between and save up that nice cushion... you should have no issues moving somewhere with a relatively low cost of living.
