Is there anyone here that knows anything about The Healing Place in Louisville ? It is for people that need help for alcoholism. The website said it was free. Anyone know about this? Also we do live in KY once again so does anyone know of a program that will help people with this disease that would not cost a lot. My husband has insurance. Thank you

It is a great place. Lots of indigent folks there too as it is located in an urban area.

Can they really deal with an alcoholic and have them come out of the other side a new person although they will always be an alcoholic ? I know they take people first from Henry (where we used to live) Jefferson close places. We are now living in Northern KY. I know I need to call them and not ask you all so many questions but I though I would feel you out first. Thank you again. I will let you know how it goes.

I wish I could help, but I don't know anything about them. I just want to say, though, that I wish you and your family the best. My father was an alcoholic; he quit when i was 10, so I don't remember it as well as some children of alcoholics do, but I know how stressful and sometimes frightening it can be for family members. I'll be thinking of you folks, and sending you my best wishes. Hang in there.

Its ironic I landed on this thread but I do have some helpful advice. I live in NC where we have a healing place for men and one for women. They are an in house recovery program. My brother has been there and I know alot about how they operate from him. They treat alcoholics and drug addicts without insurance and often homeless. However its not just homeless at least not here. If you would like you can dm me. They are a long term program and require dedication to get clean but they will help you as much as you help yourself .
