According to 2014 US News and World Reports, North Oldham HS ranks #2 in KY (206 nationally). South Oldham HS ranks #4 for KY (431 nationally).

SchoolDigger.com, greatschool.org, and education.com are also sites you might check for rankings and statistics on elementary, middle, and high school levels.

I've noticed that realtor sites also list school rankings, but I've been primarily focusing on dedicated school sites for a lot of information - assuming it's more up to date and accurate.

EDIT: I don't live in KY, but am in the process of researching with the possibility of moving there.

I live in OC. I know the differences in all three schools. Here's the low down. If your child is a top student, there isn't 10cents difference in the three schools.

I'd presume that if your child was a top tier student, it wouldn't matter where you send them regardless of the county or state in the US - they'd likely do pretty well for themselves.

This is definitely not true. A top tier student must have top tier opportunities. The quality of the schools must be ingrained there first, then the top-tier students can take advantage of the opportunities. Example: for my first 11 years of education in a small rural school, our principal was top-notch and his wife was one of the best math teachers ever. That little school was producing doctors, lawyers, educators, and even CIA operatives. Yet, in my senior year, that principal and his bride left for greener pastures, and the school effectively fell apart. The chaos was unbelievable.
