Relocating for work at the Mill Creek Power Station toward the end of the year. We are looking to rent at 2 or 3 bedroom House, pet friendly and in a great 6th grade school district. Or A spot of land to set up our 5th wheel Travel Trailer. We would like a country like setting. We enjoy outside activities with our family. We would like to be as close as possible to work/school. I do not know anything about the area. Any information?

Considering the plant you will be at is off of Dixie Highway, you have options as far as areas go. For starters, I would avoid the near "city" areas such as Pleasure Ridge Park, Valley Station, etc...These areas are somewhat going into decay unfortunately, and I wouldn't live there.

What kind of commute are you willing to do for this? Getting this answer will help on giving recommendations, also budget would help as well!

There are a lot of nice neighborhoods in that part of Louisville but the public schools down there are mostly avoidable unless it's a magnet (non geographic district) based school like Butler. Might consider Bullitt Co which has good (but not great) public schools and a more rural feel. Jefferson Memorial Forest, Parklands of Floyds Fork, and Bernheim Forest have good outdoor activities.
