My boyfriend and I are are new to the city and heard the derby festivities were starting. We were told we could view the fireworks at the waterfront park and Iroquois park. But we would prefer not to be in a big crowd. Are there any nooks, or your personal watch spots surrounding the 2nd street bridge or in the heart of downtown Louisville?! We don’t need a secluded spot or a rooftop which are both optional! We just don’t want to be around 2,000+ people and fighting traffic. We don’t have to be super close either. Just a great view of the fireworks without all the people 😂

cherokee park!!! dog hill aka barringer hill on googlemaps . not a direct view but good enough and will keep you away from nearly 800,000 people downtown!
