hey everyone -

I'm going to be in louisville for a couple of days this week and I'm trying to plan some fun activities for my girlfriend and myself...I'll be staying downtown..we are in our twenties and like to have a good time..(booz!..well in moderation)

I'm thinking something along the lines of..

lunch
some activity
dinner
after dinner activity
sleep
early morning activity
lunch
depart.

Any suggestions for the above itinerary? I have never been to louisville before (I'm coming from Florida). For the food, I definately want to try something that is distinctly louisville as opposed to chains.

Are their fun activities on the ohio river? What is your opinion on 4th street live district?

I know this post might seem ridiculous, but I thank everyone in advance!

The Slugger Museum is really nice, admission is only $9

My favorite local restaurant is the Windy City Pizzeria on 4th Street south of U of L. It is only 1 mile from Churchill Downs and the KY Derby Museum

4th Street Live is very nice, but is mostly national chain restaurants and businesses. The best area for local bars and nightclubs is Baxter Ave/ Bardstown Rd in The Highlands area.

if you are more specific on the days/nights you are here, plus whether you are a club, pub, or live music person, and whether you want cheap, ethnic, moderate, american, or any other kind of food.....then I can give you ideas.

Lightbulb activities

Best bet if they are playing a home game is to catch a Louisville Bats baseball. Great stadium. Less than going to the museum too.
