...and what pluses/ minuses do you think the current area where you live has?

Where I live: Old Louisville

+'s: The architecture is incredible. Driving down St James Court at twilight when the fountain is lit is breathtaking. All in all OL really seems to be going the right direction with less crime and more young profs

-'s: Oak Street is really ghetto, there isn't one large area of shopping and restaurants, parking is a contact sport, housing cost for a buyer is very high ($150,000+ for a 700 ft shotgun house)

My favorite areas:
- Auburndale/ Kenwood: IMO it's by far the best area of the South End. Decent amount of shopping, lots of well built brick houses, neighborhoods have a lot of character (unlike Dixie Hwy area), lots of new development
- Lyndon: the RR running right through it is really cool, housing affordable for the East End, near major shopping areas but with all the traffic and noise, racially diverse (15% Black, 8% Hispanic)
- greater Audubon Park: every neighborhood is stable and has tons of character, Shelby Street/ Upper Preston Hwy developing into the next Frankfort Ave, one of the safest areas in the city

What's yours?

I LOVE the Crescent Hill area, and of course the Highlands!
