Socially, dead man's corner. The area to the east isn't your best part of dodge, but if you can live with the closeness of a major Interstate highway, it should be ok for a single person or people without children.

i am indeed a single person. i'm going to be working east along 71. i need a location that keeps me within 45 minutes of carrollton, but within striking distance of the city. i don't necessarily need to be in the social hotspot, but i need to be close enough to enjoy it when i want to.

Bay Point will work for you. It's 30-35 minutes to your work, and 10-15 minutes to most social spots whether they be movie theaters, downtown, churches, or restaurants.
