Can someone recommend us a good structural engineer. We are doing some remodelling in our house(100 year old), and one of the load bearing wall needs to come down. So our contractor has recommended to get a structural engineer take a look at it. We would really appreciate if someone could recommend us one......

My wife and I hired a young man a couple years ago to look at a property we were considering to purchase. His office was in the Hurstbourne/I-64 area, but for the life of me I can't remember his name. I will look it up for you as soon as I can. Without being racist, I can tell you that he was of Asian Indiana desent. I say this to maybe help someone else remember his name. Wonderful young man with a very professional approach. He located a problematic issue with the stairs to the second floor.

Birch, Trautwein & Mims is a good firm. Rangaswamy is another good structural engineering firm. I'm not sure about what each charges, but they are both reputable.
