Hello, I am new to the subject of Oil drilling. But I have met an old friend that has been in the drilling business for 20 years. He has found some property in Metcalf county (Glascow area) that has pools of oil.

I am a city boy and went to the sites where I saw large Tank batteries and jack pumps pumping oil. I even smelled the crude in the air.

Does anyone else know this? I mean this is not Texas or Louisiana, but Kentucky!

I'm thinking about investing with them. One of the drillers I know very well and trust him in his judgment and opinions. Just wanted to know if there were any other Oil investors out their.

Much oil! Facts are that a huge basin of shallow oil existed in a 50-75 mile radius of Henderson, KY. This oil provided a huge economic opportunity for much of the area from the 1930's through 1980's. McLean, Daviess, Henderson, Union, Webster, and Hopkins Counties were the source of much of the oil that supported America during WWII. There are many other smaller pockets of oil scattered throughout Kentucky. The Tompkinsville area being just one example.

There was oil down in Greensburg/Campbellsville area, too. There was a minor oil boom there in the 1950s, I believe.
