Do any of you know anything about it? I am in my 40's with a degree already and am interested in combining my analytical strengths with my passion for horses. I have looked at a lot of the degree programs out there, and most are geared towards people who want to be riding instructors, etc. I am more interested in working for a breed organization, or at a racetrack, etc. in a professional capacity. U of Louisville has a 1 yr certificate program for people like me. Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated, especially how potential employers would view graduates of the program.

Didnt know they even had that, but Louisville is a very up and coming school and city. Lots of transplants from Chicago here, including me

So if you're the moderator, can I take it to mean that you're happy down there? Where were you living before you moved? I'm in Elgin now, but spent 8 yrs in Ravenwood/Lincoln Square before that. How is it politically? Is the summer a lot worse than the Chicago area? I'm not fond of extremely warm/humid weather. If I do this program, I may only be down there for a yr or so, then who knows, depends on where I get a job.

Its probably the most underrated city I have seen yet. I have lived in several different cities, and it is the best midsized city I have seen. It certainly beats the Elgin/Aurora area, and size wise, it is probably similar to the Naperville/Aurora submarket of Chicago. However, since it is the cultural hub of its state, Louisville has a lot more going on than say, Elgin alone. I love Louisville and have been here almost 5 years now. The weather is much better than Chicago. Way less cold, way less snow, and the summers are not too much hotter. The humidity is much worse for a longer period. May and June in Louisville are as hot as Chicago August. The redeemer is that in Louisville you see 80s sometimes thru October. I do miss the big city theatre and pro sports sometimes, but I often make trips to LA, Chicago, NYC and others for that fix.
