I once knew a Lakota woman who worked in Louisville, so I wouldn't say there aren't any.

If he's a repair "specialist" then that sounds professional. And basements sound like $$ to me so he must earn a good wage (or salary to sound professional). The word professional can be so misleading. There are fields that are considered menial labor, but in reality take more skill and experience than some jobs people bloat about. Auto technician for instance is secure and very skilled, certainly not menial. But if you call yourself a "auto mechanic" then people may think you're just a grease monkey since that term doesn't indicate "professional" certification.

The word "repair" sounds menial... how about "remedy" lol. basement remedy specialist.

We have people here in Louisville from all around the world and states, but some folks don't know that (like folks up east). Our large populations that exist that I know of are people from India, Vietnamese, and Spanish (which includes Mexico, Puerto Rico, Venezuela) Pakistan, and the Middle East. But we also have a small population of people that are French (from France and Africa), Eastern Europe, Poland, German, gosh the list goes on. Many years ago, I met a gal from an Indian tribe. We have it all, just on a smaller scale than the larger cities like NY. The international folks don't live in no certain area, but are scattered. Could be Hurstborne as someone here mentioned but also could be Oldham Country or South Louisville in the Americana apartments (which is mostly where the new immigrants come to that I know of. Most likely, they have a group get together for the people from India. I know they do for the people that are from Pakistan and countries around that country. Also, a lot of international people as well as the local people I grew up with moved to Southern Indiana. Good Luck

Yeah its pretty skilled labor.. you have be know what your doing when repairing wall cracks, fixing foundation issues (usually the cause of basement issues).

Yes they are, and lots and lots of Indians work at Humana. You will be fine. That is a nice little walk though. Make sure you also look at Glassworks lofts and also Guthrie-Coke, Henry Clay, and Whiskey Row Lofts.

I am also thinking of St Francis Apartment as we are moving in two weeks time. How was crescent center? It looks nice from the website but seems the review is not that good.

Also, How was the location in general? Will it be safe at night?

Thanks!

All good and yes, yes, and yes. The area is only getting better too, as soon as the nearby 35 story Omni hotel with ground level grocery opens in 2018.

Personally, I would also look at City properties

CITY Properties Group - Apartments Available

Whiskey Row is IMO the best units and location. Guthrie Coke is good too if you want a little "quieter" yet still downtown in the action (Whiskey Row can get hectic on event nights at Yum Center arena which occur at least once a week).
