Any opinions -- Fenwick Place vs Woodbridge Apts? (Shelbyville: apartments, rent)

I am deliberating between these two complexes. If you have a (knowledgeable) opinion, please share it. Also: Are residential areas around Klondike Lane fairly pleasant?

I love Kentucky, but boy, am I nervous about this move.

I rented in Woodbridge from June 2006 through August 2007, it was fantastic. First of all it's a great part of town. Secondly, there is tons of greenspace, 2 dog parks, and the management is much above average, in my opinion. I had a 2 bed 1 bath, without laundry, however I could walk to the onsite laundromat, so it was no big deal and we had a wood burning fireplace in my unit. Back then rent was $674 and I was on the first floor. Also, there is a duck pond right on the premises which is really nice and the complex only charges an upfront pet fee, not a monthly charge, which was nice because I had a dog. The area is very convenient to 264, 71, 64, both malls on Shelbyville, and the Hurtsbourne corridor. The only reason we moved is because we purchased a house. If you are looking at apartments you cannot do better dollar for dollar. If you want something newer look next door at Canter Chase, they are nice, I heard their management isn't as top shelf as Woodbridge though, plus an extra $100/month for similar square footage.

Woodbridge is a good place. Also gets good reviews on the feedback websites. Rent is reasonable and it's a pretty good location, especially if you work out in the east end.

One part they promote that I thought was gimmicky is that they say no monthly pet fee. However, you pay a $300 non-refundable pet desposit which works out to $25 a month. In other words, you are paying a pet fee and it is all upfront

I think Woodbridge is great. Been there two years. I have a dog and I paid $300 up front, but thats it. most communities charge $300 pet fee plus monthly pet rent.
