Can anyone recommend a good stylist that caters to African American hair?

Not sure about in L'ville but there is a real honey of a gal called Monique in Jeffersonville, across the river from L'ville. The shop is on 10th st. next door to the smoke store. If you haven't found anyone yet I can look up the exact info for you. She cut my hair etc last month and is fabulous. It's mostly a black salon but even though I'm a honky I go there because they do a really nice job on my hair. Magic is what I call it. The scalp massage is out of this world.

Try the Shona Casey Salon on 4th avenue downtown Louisville. She is African American herself and does an excellent job with all types of hair.
