Hello! I am just starting to browse the St Matthews area for condos to buy. I am looking for a minimum one bedroom, one bath condo with a patio,, balcony, or small yard that is reasonably priced. My question is if any of you might have recommendations for where to go to look for a good deal. Im talking about a good condo community or even an agent to help me out in the near future. Also, if any of you are condo/townhouse owners....how much to you pay? (if you dont mind me asking, of course!)

Tough to say. Search on semonin.com or remax.com to get an idea. be careful of any high HOA or high rates of foreclosures. I would be more inclined to buy a condo in a development with no more than 10 or 20 units, that is unique, and that has ownership of the HOA.

I'd personally look for a unit in a larger complex. You'd spread your risk out over a larger number of neighbors. In theory your monthly dues would be smaller as your % of ownership decreased, and the buying power of increased numbers kicks in.

If you can move into the Crescent Hill area and Lower Brownsboro Road, you'll find a lot more options. I just got done looking at about 30 different units in the past 2 weeks with a client.

What price range did you have in mind?
