My family will be moving to Louisville this fall. We have looked at the private schools, and the ones that we are considering are:

My niece goes to Kentucky Country Day. It seems pretty elite, but my parents question if the education is worth the money. There are other good private schools. My other niece attends Sacred Heart, has since pre-school, and she seems to be getting an excellent education.

Are you referring to St. Francis on US 42 in Goshen? I'm not as familiar with it but it is k-12 and definitely has a good reputation from what I've heard.

There are several other simgle sex catholic schools in the region too. The only coed catholic schools are in the suburbs of Clarksville, IN and Bardstown, KY.
There are also some wonderful other small private Highschools like Walden.
With regards to St Francis, there are at least 3 I know of. St Francis in Goshen, KY, St Francis HS downtown, and St Francis K-8 in the the Highlands.

I have to recommend Trinity since I am a graduate, but it really is an all-around great school. Also, Sacred Heart is very good too, I have family members that have graduated and are currently attending school there.

Before committing to a private school, please check out the oldham county schools.

Can you give me your honest opinion on which school you think is better or who has the better reputation Christian Academy or the Highland Latin School? You were kind enough to respond to my last post about the Old Louisville area. We are relocating to Louisville from Chicago as soon as our house sells and will be moving into an apartment.

I think Christian Academy but by default. The Latin School isn't well known. My wife and I went to the Latin School's open house and we are going back for a personal tour in a month or so. It's my top pick BUT make sure your kids will accept it. It's very small so if your children are use to a big school and have trouble adjusting they will have severe culture shock. To add to this post, I grew up in the east end and went to Ballard. KCD & Collegiate are probably the most elite in terms of snob appeal but not test scores. If you want your kids rubbing elbows with the well to do they need to be on your short list. I'm interested to hear what stx12499 has to say on this.

errrr... STX, did Holy Cross close? Last I heard it was wide open, co-ed, Catholic and in Jefferson County?
