I'm a single 20-something looking into relocating to Louisville. I'm hoping you can help me with a few questions...

First, what are the politics like? I'm an evangelical, Republican, etc...While I know that Kentucky, generally, would be a good fit I wonder what Louisville is like. Is the metro area pretty liberal, conservative?

Is it more southern or midwestern?

I've also heard that it is pretty rough for families mostly because the crime, gangs, thugs, etc. in many parts of the city. How bad is the gangs and violence?

I'm from Denver, CO, so if you can relate any comparisons that would be helpful. What's great about Denver is that it is conservative, family-friendly, church-going, outdoorsy, etc. But it's too expensive for most a lot of people. Lousville has always been an attractive destination so I'm hoping you can help me out.

Louisville does not have a crime problem any more than Denver. It is also much smaller than Denver. Louisville is pretty liberal in a few neighborhoods close to downtown, but the rest of the county and metro area is conservative republican. Lots of evangelical churches in the suburbs too.
