any idea how to get court/public records online for Jefferson Co? (Louisville: insurance)

Hello all, I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm trying to look up public records in louisville courts, etc. I'm not from KY so I am not sure how to do it.

I was in town for a conference last week and was hit by a 14-passenger van while crossing the street as a pedestrian. I was knocked unconscious and sent to the ER--later I found a paper in my purse from the police with the report # and the driver's name, but it turns out the driver doesn't own the car, the insurance policy given was for the car's owner, and the policy has lapsed! So I'm trying to track down this person. The police officer hasn't returned calls and the phone number on the paper I have for the driver or the owner doesn't work. Crazy, right?

Thanks--I'm mostly looking for court records, that sort of thing, any public records searches for the area.

Under the court records link, when you search click JEFFERSON COUNTY. Thats where Louisville is located.
