I've posted before about moving to the Lubbock area from Canton, Ohio. Things here in Ohio couldn't be worse, our weather sucks, blah, I really need out of here. I'm a Car Salesman, I was let go in September due to the market dumping all over again and winter hitting. I was really hoping to get into a new field, but to make ends meet, I may have to resort to being a shark for a bit. I am a very good salesman, but the best car guy can't make people buy if they can't. Anyone here in the car market or know anyone in the car market? I would have no issues getting into the field; I just don't want to line up a job and end up just setting myself up for failure.

The recession has hardly hit Lubbock, so I imagine that the car market is decent still. My cousin worked as a saleswoman at a local dealership for a little to make ends meet last year, and she did fine. My brother has a friend working as a salesman as well, and he's doing pretty good for himself. I don't think you would be setting yourself up for failure.

Cotton prices are at record highs, so I would bet a lot of farmers will be buying new pickups.

Dallas is the biggest car market in the United States.

You could probably open you own lot in Lubbock and make some nice dough.

Lubbockites will drive hard bargains but you probably won't wind up with too many mini-pacs but I doubt you'll make many two pounders plus either.

I made bank off of mini's here in Ohio. Write 15 minis, hit my goal and get a 1k bonus, then polish off the month with a couple 2-4 pounders.

Sounds like anywhere in Texas would be pretty decent for a car guy such as myself. This has the sales blood pumping in me! Haha!
