You'll love it! Both my daughters went to school there, well, one is a senior. Lubbock is a fine town. Like anything else, your attitude will define your experience.

Are you an international student? I ask because I can't imagine going to a school I hadn't visited first.

Tech is a fairly standard state school, which is to say the academics are good and the college experience is stereotypical, though not in a bad way necessarily. From my observation, it's filled largely with either hardworking students (whether from Lockney, Texas; Pennsylvania; or Malaysia) who understand the value of education and spoiled kids from the suburbs spending their parents' money.

Lubbock is not the most exciting place on paper for people our age, but there are tons of young people and plenty of parties, bars, and music. And yes, beautiful girls abound.

Yes, plenty of beautiful girls in the town, you won't be disappointed. Plenty of things to keep you occupied too. If you get into the "Greek" thing, plenty of frat/sorority things going on, if not then there are tons of other happenings along the same lines as well. Meaning plenty of things to distract you from your primary focus of school....

Spread out campus, plenty of space to roam around, and if you eat out much there are plenty of places all over Lubbock to eat at.

Lubbock is a very easy town to find your way around in, you really just can't hardly get lost so explore and find things you want to do.

Yes! I can't believe that I forgot that. I may be a Longhorn now, but Tech football games are always fun.

My brother in law just graduated from Tech this past May or they just gave him a diploma to leave. You'll have fun in Lubbock, the stories I've been told would make his sister blush. Have fun and make the best of it.

You'll enjoy Texas Tech. I graduated from Tech back in the 90's and I still have many fond memories of my days there. Like some of the others said above, there are plenty of things for college students to do, both on and off campus and the football games are great! The vast majority of the women at Tech are absolutely gorgeous. I've been back to Lubbock many times since I graduated, mostly for football games, and it truly is amazing how that has never changed...and I really miss that!...lol. Lubbock is a great city too, and generally speaking the locals are very supportive of the university.
