So apparently the rumor mill has turned out that HEB may be coming to Lubbock. I personally like HEB and think itd be good for different options to shop as opposed to just United or Lowes. But this seems to be just a light rumor at the moment, but hey never know what will happen...

It would be great if it panned out for Lubbock.

I loved the Midland HEB, and I really miss it!

Hope you all get an HEB...I take them for granted here in San Antonio a they are everywhere like McDonalds. I especially like their HEB Plus stores! It's like a Walmart store in size and product offerings.

Lots of cities don't have one. I live in the burbs of Dallas and I can't recall seeing any at all in this area.

There is not even one in Fort Worth however they are making their way north. (I heard HEB purchased land in North FW). I think it will be just a matter of time before they are all over TX.

I think this is good news. United, though local, basically has an unchallenged monopoly. The smaller HEBs don't impress me at all, but the larger ones have great product selection compared to United. That said, United has MUCH cleaner stores and better presentation.
