There is a synagogue in town, but the Jewish community is very small in Lubbock, less than 100 families from what the two Jewish friends I had there have said.

Lubbock Texas boasts one of the premiere Jewish communities in the state of Texas ." Although my former son in law SIL was Jewish, I am not, so I am unfamiliar with the faith but, if you haven't found it yet, the website is:

Thanks for your help, we've already figured if the place we're interested in isn't a large metro, the percentage of the population would be pretty low, but as long as there is a presence, that's all right w/ us.

I just remembered that the postman had brought me a big paper telephone directory for Lubbock this past week. I looked in it and I find only the Congressional Shaareth Israel synagogue at 6928th 83rd St. in Lubbock at (806) 794-7517. That of course is the same number as at the website I had given you.

Thank you but I was never trying to be an ambassador. I was, however, young once with a young family. We moved several times. It was very stressful even in much simpler times.
