Now Tubby's left Lubbock. This is what happens when a Tech coach wins high honors in the Big 12. Congr ---- oh, well.

New coach on the way.

Little did I know. However, he did make the position a LOT more attractive than it was when he arrived (probably as big a Dumpster Fire as few in Big 12 history), so I'll give him a great amount of credit for that.

Beard has a great resume, has previously coached at Tech for ten years, and has family ties, so I'm excited to see what he can do. I like his recount of the conversation with the assistant who had never been to Lubbock.

Almost any coach that does well in Lubbock, will probably be offered better and leave. In spite of TT trying to pay well, there isn't much in Lubbock to make people want to stay. Recreational opportunities are very limited, and its isolation makes travel to events a time consuming venture.

One of the successful coaches has left. He was replaced by Chris Beard, who previously coached in Lubbock for ten years and has talked glowingly of the city since taking the job (picking Lubbock over Vegas). Meanwhile:
