While the following might not seem like a big deal, it's still business. More food trucks are setting up shop in the Hub City in hopes that they'll follow Evie Mae's lead in one day getting its own building. The latest food truck to start up specializes in woodfire-oven pizza. It's currently in Lubbock In The Loop's Food and Drink listings, so you might want to catch it today because tomorrow's listings might change.

In addition, dirt is being turned (I think) at the northwest corner of I-27 at Regis. Haven't seen an official report, but Google Maps shows the lot with a lot of dirt. There will also be a reconstructed median to be done at the interchange, with new aesthetics along with the installation of a new traffic signal. For this area, being close to the airport, it's about time.

Looked up Loopnet, and a graphic from a commercial realtor showed what looked like a photoshopped overhead view of a Sonic Drive-In there.

Would very much like to see that part of the city/county live up to its potential.

The link below shows the Photoshop of what looks like a Sonic, to the right of the first image:

To the left is the Dollar General built in the last 2-3 years, and then beyond that is the well-established Taco Village. Maybe the part in the middle is what’s for sale?

Update from the West side: Northeast corner of 19th and West Loop 289 is...........a new Panda Express. It will be sitting across from what will likely be H-E-B's second Lubbock location.

And now, 146th Street is about to get some commercial attention. All the development activity going in on Quaker is now spilling south of the future Loop 88, where Lubbock In The Loop sez that a new Brewery LBK and a Dirk's Chicken are looking to push a shovel.

The last two drink/food places are expected to overlook this, I think:

Not exactly sure when the course might open, if it’s this year or next.

Haha, looked everywhere but right in front for that.

Hope you have a good weekend, Case.

I mentioned this on the City vs. City forum, but here’s a construction photo of the Red Feather Golf Club:

Apparently it gets all its irrigation water from…

the sky.

Quote:
Water: we are using exclusively captured rain water from our 900 acre watershed. Spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to direct that water where we wanted it, capture it, and use it. We have approximately 100,000,000 gallons of water stored for use right now.
Needless to say, expect to pay a premium if you want to be a member. Overall, though, this seems like a positive for the city and region.
