If Lubbock truly cares about this, then they need to fight for this. Otherwise, here's another grand opportunity lost in this town.

According to another site, this frees up space for a possible parking garage (similar to Raider Park with retail on the ground floor) that would serve a prospective hotel for the civic center, as well as the BHHOPAAS (?) and the Underwood Center for the Arts. If that need didn't exist, then my guess is that the city's deadline might have been extended.

Hopefully another site is found in Lubbock.

Something eventually will go there. Keep in mind, too, that Lubbock is also talking about bringing minor league baseball to town in a few years, although that specific site might be tight. If the city isn't completely giving up on the college baseball HOF, then maybe Mayor Pope can revisit negotiations on another site. With that thought in mind, they could implement a deal which could bring a minor-league ballpark to go along with the museum and Hall of Fame altogether. That can't be ruled out.

Hopefully the parking lot is at least landscaped (a little?).
