Listed as “under development,” the TXDOT web site says that it would cost nearly $20 million. Just about anything would be an improvement over what’s there now. Until then, maybe they could paint lane markings on eastbound 289 just after the University Ave. exit that alert drivers as to which lane they should be in for I-27, 289/84, and continuing on the loop.

I didn't see anything on TXDOT's site, shoe. Any more details? There's no word yet of converting 84 to a freeway in the southeast.

Well, the site’s functionality isn’t exceptionally good (at least on all devices), so I don’t know if I can link to the project directly.

Here’s this:

Project Tracker

The listed budget is $19,340,000. Project ID is 07830110, so maybe someone with a better system can pull it up individually.

It would help. It’s a complicated meeting of a freeway (289), a major US highway (84), and a city street (MLK) that causes big traffic snarls.
