Opinions split on housing project proposed in Guadalupe neighborhood | Lubbock Online | Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

To me, it’s better than nothing, which has been the case for a very long time. Also (as the article states) it’s better than a disruptive club, an adults-only establishment, another truck stop, or similar venue. To me, it would create a good buffer zone from the freeway for the current residents.

I agree. I don’t understand the opposition really. Especially with the frequent complaints regarding the lack of development in that area?

Exactly.

Looks like the city rezoned the land from commercial. Don’t know if that means that construction starts soon, or if there are still hurdles to overcome.
