Lots of people retire and leave Lbk. Isolation and very little to do recreation wise. There are many better places to retire, in Tx. and in other states.

I've been encouraging my parents to not retire in Lubbock, frankly. A fixed income goes a lot father in states with a better combination of lower taxes/lower property value, so I think it's a better deal to go a cheap city in a state with income tax.

Sounds like your name should be Aggiedogie.

The weather, medical facilities and traffic are great. Housing costs are lower than any other major city in Texas. There is a lot going on in Lubbock, making it one of the most dynamic mid-sized cities in the country. The finest performing arts center in Texas opens in a few months. The Buddy Holly Halll will be one of the premier facilities in the world.
