Lubbock has a reputation for having the best medical care and facilities between DFW and Phoenix.

My husband graduated from the Med. School in Lubbock and felt that it was a great place for trauma care. They have a level 1 trauma center. There are 3 main hospitals there. I know some excellent doctors there and would be happy to give you some recommendations, marvelanne1938, if you need it.

I too have lived in Abilene and Lubbock.... there isn't all that much difference in scenery between the two. Abilene has more of a slope to the land and pretty much the same type of climate. I lived in Lubbock for around 17yrs and went to college in Abilene. My parents have a gorgeous yard there and if I were to show you a picture of it.... you would be surprised it is in Lubbock. All you need is a sprinkler system and then you're set.... just plant away. I hope those of you who are about to move to Lubbock are able to love it like I did.
