I'm visiting my relatives in Lubbock soon, and it looks like I'll have to eat out everyday for a while. Any suggestions for good restaurants to go to that would be diabetic friendly? Your information would be greatly appreciated!

The only restaurant I can think of off the top of my head would be Lite Bite Mediterranean Cafe near 50th and Indiana. It specializes in health foods and caters to many different diets. You can also check out lubbockrestaurantguide.com.

Thank you, Westerner 92! It's awesome! I didn't know they have a Mediterranean restaurant in Lubbock. I like Mediterranean food as well, and I would definitely go there. Thank you for the link too. I'm going to check out the website right now.

If you like family-styled cafeterias, contact Furr's Cafeterias. I know they carry sugar-free foods in their lines but I don't know to what extent. I've never been a fan of most cafeterias but my wife and I love Furr's. In fact, we'll probably be at one of Lubbock's Furr's this weekend.

Bless Your Heart... is a health conscious restaurant located on 19th street. Love the food there! It's also right next to the Methodist Hospital. Hope you enjoy your time in Lubbock!

You might also want to try a restaurant called "It's Greek To Me". I've heard it's very authentic since it is run by Greeks and they have great gyros.

Thank you, High_Plains_Retired! Also, thank you for the link. I've never been to Furr's Cafeteria, but it seems like they have the kind of food I'm able to eat as well(vegetable dishes, curved turkey...etc.). I was looking at their menu online, and I thought it was cool that they have the nutritional information for some of their menu available online. They have lots of other menu too, so I'm sure my husband (not diabetic) won't complain.

Thank you, Back2TX! I've never noticed there is a restaurant right next to the Methodist hospital, but I think I know where it's located at. Now that I know where to go to eat, I can't wait to go to Lubbock!

Thank you again, Westerner92! Oh boy, I got so excited when I read the word "gyros". Wow...if the place is run by Greeks, it's got to be really good. I'll go 'n get me some gyros for sure.
