I have no idea at all. The news has mentioned nothing about it. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Lubbock will let cities that need the money have it.

Well, you got me on that one. They should, anyway, but whatever plans our incoming president has in mind, I'm not real sure.

Its a good idea. With the federal government giving out money like it's candy on Halloween, and the next administration indicating that it will continue this policy. Uncle Sam show us the money!

I think that Lubbock should of asked for some money they need some more to finish the marsha sharp freeway. And with the northwest passage to extend those roads. What other road projects could have lubbock cashed in on and done.

Yes. Money will be spent across all cities. How much is yet to be determined.

Only thing I can think of is renewable energy investments.

They also want to build that NAFTA highway but that is more through the texas triangle.

Im not sure exactly how this "stimulus" money thing is going to happen. I've never heard of such a thing personally so it's Mandarian to me.... I have heard though that for example San Antonio has ask for something like 1.2 billion, and El Paso something like 1.8 billion. If that is the case, and they are approved for what they ask then it deffinately has nothing to do with population which I think it should. Then again I heard San Antonio had a horrible plan put toghter and didn't ask for much.

If the administration does what is right they will spread it out evenly based upon numbers of citizens in that city. (Ie: if Houston at 2.2 million in the city asks for $3 billion and recieves it then a place like Lubbock with 220K would get 1/10th of that amount at $300 million). Some may so, no fair!, or we need it more, etc.... Well, I don't think it matters who needs it, and other outside circumstances because I can GUARNTEE you every single city is going to have it's own sob story.

All of these stimulus packages are freakin stupid and just putting the federal govt more and more in debt. Instead of wasting, by this time, trillions of dollars on major corporations who don't even use the money right, the govt could go right to the main source of the problem and give every citizen $100,000-$400,000 dollars to take care of their own debts and set things back straight. Then there would be no credit crunch, no poverty, and best of all, no more debt. Not to mention, crime would go way down. And it would be cheaper than what they are dishing out right now. Idiot politics like making things complicated instead of keeping it simple.
