Kind of an odd question but I imagine someone here will know the answer.
I'm selling a car to someone in Macon and their return address is written as
Juniper Lane
Macon, GA 31220
The problem is that neither Google Maps or Mapquest seem to be able to find Juniper Lane. Does anyone here on the boards know where that would be? Obviously I'd rather figure out if he's a phony ahead of time rather than two weeks after he's gone with the car and I need to rely on the police to track him down.
It comes up for me if you google Ansley Village Apartments in Macon as a 314 Juniper Lane.
It ISN'T LISTED as a road on the tax assessors website, so if it exists, it is a private road named by the apartment. That is possible, but I would still be cautious however as Ansley Village Apartments also shows up with a Zebulon Rd address. It's probably legit, the zip code matches, but.......you never know. I would call Ansley Village Apartments during business hours and see if they have any Juniper Lane apartments.
Hi, You seem to be very knowledgeable of the middle ga area so, if I may...ask a question?
If over 50 and wanting to live in Macon in a somewhat artsy district where would that be? Consider safety too since this person is female/single. Need a place that would have multiple bdrms so a studio could be set up. Something with a little charm! Older house maybe.....Thanks
Seems like i've heard of a Juniper Lane... And @Ello77 There's plenty of huge old houses with a bunch of rooms in the downtown, or maybe a little away from it, area. But trust me, downtown Macon is NOT, I repeat, NOT safe. Maybe arount the art museum? That's about the only artsy district in Macon. I guess the Ashley Towers would be ok, too, if they were looking for apartments (but it doesn't sound like they do).

The intown historic district is for you. The area is the residential area of downtown with old historic homes. Some are carved up into varied sizes. Most are advertised locally by signs or craigslist. Many Mercer univ law students and those interning at the medical center cycle through them often. May/june is the best time to find them. The business side of downtown also has some neat spaces but the rents in the mulberry st and cherry st areas usually limit multiple room spaces.
If you are looking to buy, there are some great deals out there as long as you don't want a fully modernized historic home...those can get pricey.
As far as safety goes, the intown historic district is very safe east of the medical center. Mulberry and cherry are safe in the business area.
There are some on here who write off the entire downtown area. I don't believe they are looking at the facts on a street level (plum street and magnolia street should never be lumped together by anybody paying attention)and im sure they will attack me on here, but I felt safer in my historic home on cherry street than I did in my older house in warner robins. It sounds like you are very concerned about safety and so the residential areas of intown macon would be bettter for the quiet street feel where neighbors know what is going on.
Katherine court, 855 Mulberry St, has a two bedroom available (leasing office is Broadway Lofts Corporation). I'm a retiree who has a 1 bedroom there. Most residents are law/medical students and retirees. I've lived here almost a year and I love it!
Hey now, I didn't say all of Downtown was unsafe. The Historic district is very safe, I was just talking about DOWNTOWN downtown, and those places with the smaller houses in downtown. The historic district is just a little bit outside of the downtown, but some still consider it downtown. Gosh, you reckon I said 'downtown' enough times?
