Do you suppose the same designers of the I-75 / I-475 project are involved? Just wondering. These interchanges were in mostly rural sections of the area (plenty of room) and they seemed to leave out a few key ramps here and there. Like at the most important. The actual connectors of these Interstates to be specific. Anyone want to offer an opinion as to why we did not complete the "loop" in such a wide open area? The southernmost connecting area looks a bit swampy, I am guessing it was a cost cutting measure. Athens has a fully functioning loop. So does Augusta. Macon swung and missed.
I did notice the bridge work just south of the airport (north of the base, on 247) and I also noticed that after years of discussion the overpass/bypass at 96 and 247 is actually in progress. There is movement, and that is a plus. Based on what I have seen in the past, someone should be looking into this new I-75 / I -16 plan. Real close. They may just fail to connect I-75 to I-16.

Trees are being removed along the I-16 portion near downtown. A lot of pre-construction has already begun, but luckily no closures/delays!
