A new aviation company coming to the Middle Georgia Regional Airport says it will create more than 80 jobs over the next year. Yulista is based out of Alaska and chose to expand its company right here in Macon. The company maintains and modifies Black Hawks, Lakotas, and other aircraft.
"It is very clear that the Middle Georgia Regional Airport's bread and butter is aircraft manufacturing, maintenance repair and overhaul," said Doug Faour, the Middle Georgia Regional Airport Manager.
The Macon-Bibb Industrial Authority is leasing a 25,000 square foot airplane hangar to an Alaskan-based aviation company. "
Our primary capability is the modification and maintenance of aircraft and new technologies and improved capabilities," said Harrison.
It's called Yulista and President Darrell Harrison says they'll be looking for aviation technicians, quality inspectors and program managers in Central Georgia. "
Right now, we have about 44 employees in Warner Robins, and we think this hangar will probably bring in, about this time next year, we're expecting about 50 additional employees right here at this hangar," said Harrison.
