The census released their estimates for counties and metropolitan areas today. The Macon Metro lost an estimated 101 people between 1 July 2014 and 1 July 2015. The rate of population loss has slowed in Bibb County which leads me to believe that much of the population bleeding has stopped and I expect Bibb may see positive numbers before the end of the decade. Of the five counties that make up the Macon Metro only two grew, Monroe and Twiggs. Since 2010, the Macon Metro has declined by 2,197 people. The Warner Robins Metro area gained 615 people lead by Houston which gained 805 people between 1 July 2014 and 1 July 2015. The other two counties that make up the metro, Peach and Pulaski both loss population. Since 2010 the Warner Robins Metro area has gained 8,544 people. Overall the Macon-Warner Robins CSA had a population of 418,245 as of 1 July 2015. Since 2010 it has grown by 6,347 people.
