The Medical Center, Navicent Health has been verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level I trauma center and claims it is the only Level I trauma center in the state and only one of 11 hospitals in the Southeast to achieve this recognition.

The state of Georgia classifies trauma centers on a scale of levels I-IV, dependent on the level of care provided. Only six hospitals in the state – including MCNH – are classified at the most comprehensive level, Level I.

Well...what happened to Grady? For years the medical center & Grady were the only 2 in Georgia. I was in Atlanta yesterday btw & that city just keep getting bigger & bigger. I came south on 75 from Marietta. Cranes line the midtown sky line, none rush hour traffic was bumper to bumper. Back to Macon; the Medical center is a true gem to Macon and often an overlooked economic powerhouse employing over 2,500.
