You are one of those that really needs to be blocked for City-Data, seriously, don't see how you have lasted this long! I'm not going to waist my time going back and forth with this, pointless and immature. I'm one for respecting peoples opinions but the way you spread negativity about a peer City in the same State is immature and ridiculous and frankly, has gotten old... It has to be a reason you have to put salt in another Cities game in Georgia, a peer City that is very similar in size... What complex do you have about Columbus that you have to tear down another Peer City in the same State, same size bracket or any other peer City for that matter... Does the City of Macon have something Columbus doesn't that you feel that deep deep need to do so??? I hate to say it but the biggest problem Columbus Georgia has is those that feel the need to tear down another to make it look better, Doesn't Work!!!. Just a word of Advice, you might want to change that Attitude, it may just back fire and beloved Columbus could end up losing more than it gains...One thing I can say for the most part, from what I have seen on here Macon supporters don't have to Tear down a peer to boost it's image. Every one could make it if you only support each other, the Two Cities are in the same State for god sake... Can't we all just get along!!! I wish you and Columbus Georgia nothing but the best buddy...
I agree it has gotten soooooooooooooooooooooooo old and i'm like you i don't even care to waste my time going back and forth over non sense. This is a Macon post and I franky i don't care to discuss Columbus
Here's a list of some attractions that Macon offers (much more than nothing)....The International Cherry Blossom Festival (large attraction) historical sites... Hay House, Cannonball house... museums including Ga Sports Hall of Fame, Tubman museum, The Big House (Allman Brothers), Ocmulgee National Monument (over 120,000 in 2011)
To Columbus1984 lots of tourists come down the interstate and spend a day or two looking at attractions here... previously I waited tables at a restaurant and I was asked many times by travelers what was there to see in Macon.
Why does any of this have to deal with Columbus? I guarantee you 10 million people did not visit Macon last year. That number is absurd. There is absolutely nothing to do over there, no major attractions, no major base etc. People stopping for gas on their way to Florida or Atlanta it does not count.
You are wrong.Macon is the seat of Geprgia Music History. The Allman Brotheers,Ottis FRedding and Little Richard.
I was just down there touring the arra a few months ago while working in Atlanta for a few months.I went with 2 Germans and a Tunisian.
We would have stayed to see more than the Occumulgee National Park after we left the Robins Museum of Aviation, but time did not permit
Macon is a beautiful city just needs more development and vibancy.

This is why Columbus posters are looked at so lowly on here. I'm definitely not saying Macon is a destination city, and 10 million visitors is definitely an error, but the condescending tone of your post about Macon would make sense if it were coming from a Savannah or Charleston resident, not Columbus lol. Whatever Columbus has to offer in regards to tourism, even if it's more than Macon (which I doubt), it still doesnt blow Macon out of the water to point where someone from Columbus of all places could speak on Macon in that manner, as if Columbus is such a destination city itself.
