This is a HUGE win for Monroe County...
Quote:
Discount retailer Five Below (Nasdaq: FIVE) will create more than 130 jobs and invest $70 million in a new distribution center in Monroe County south of Atlanta, Gov. Nathan Deal announced Wednesday.

The initial investment includes $42 million in land and building and approximately $28 million in machinery and equipment. Additional investment will occur over the next five years.

"Five Below is excited to expand our distribution network in the state of Georgia,” said Five Below President and CEO Joel Anderson in a statement. “This distribution facility is expected to support Five Below’s store growth through the Southeast."

How do you know? Do you know when construction is going to start on this development?

Little bit of Google goes a long way. Also notice the other retailers planned for the area. Looks like Eisenhower Crossing is dead.

Monroe County is all the article says - why not say which city - oh, that would be Forsyth - DUH.

Closest store for us is McDonough - almost 90 miles from me.

Thanks for the link. Hadn't seen that. With Marshalls, I wonder if the one on Presidential Pkwy will stay open.

Eisenhower has seen its best days. There is just not enough money in that part of town. Natural flow...following the moving suburbs.

On the map the location is closer to Macon than Forsyth but its still on Monroe County.

I think people are confusing things. The warehouse will be in Monroe County. LizellaJacket shared a link showing the proposed development on Starcadia Circle having one of their stores in it. The proposed retail store is in Bibb. The warehouse will be in Monroe.

I was thinking the same thing. They should have made it a TJ Maxx/ HomeGoods combo store instead. Bring something new to the Macon market. This reminds me of the Southlake to McDonough scenario just in the inverse of direction.

A smart investment group will turn it into apartments and create new jobs.
