Where to buy kitchen cabinets? (Madison: house, construction, price)

Where is a good place in the Madison area to look for kitchen cabinets that are nice, but relatively inexpensive?

This is our first house and we want to take the kitchen out of the 1970s but don't want to break the bank doing it. We don't want to just replace the door fronts b/c the cabinet frames are starting to fall apart, so we need to replace everything.

Budget for cabinets is around $3,000 if that's even possible. $4,000 max. Would prefer all wood construction instead of particle board, but not sure if that is feasible on our budget.

Any recommendations?

I redid a large kitchen last year, with new cabinets costing a little over $4,000. The quality of these was way better than Home Depot/Lowes low end cabinets, and the price was better.

Solid wood dovetail drawers, undermount soft close drawer slides, all plywood cases.

Check out Auburn Ridge. I don't know about price, but their work was awesome. I have no idea what we spent on cabinets during our kitchen remodel but they did a great job.
