I am thinking about buying a pontoon boat to use on the madison area lakes. Do the lakes, locks and connecting waterways accomodate an approx 21ft pontoon? I am trying to decide if it is a good investment in my recreation needs. Thanks for any help.

I have seen pontoon boats on Lake Monona and Lake Mendota before, so I would guess they would fit.

Default 22 foot pontoon

We have a 22 foot pontoon and go anywhere as long as you don't run out of gas!!! Have fun, we sure do on ours!

It's worth mentioning that there is currently a no-wake restriction in effect because of high water levels and it will probably be a few weeks before the restriction is lifted. And apparently the high water level is making it a little difficult for taller boats to pass under the bridges on the river between Lakes Mendota and Monona.

All true. I have seen one photo where the canoeists had to scrunch over to scrape under a Yahara bridge. McGoo you had best be doing your homework on this.
