My wife and I are considering buying a piece of residential property...Nothing huge. We're considering Lincolnville, Belfast, Rockland, Rockport or Camden. Spent some time in all of these towns and loved them all! Lincolnville's taxes are very reasonable, but we're open to considering any of these towns.

Anyway, we're hoping to then build a summer home and just wondered if any of you out there have done the same thing? Or, built your full time residence in one of these towns. If so, how did it go with the local tradesmen, the building officials, etc. The building of a home can either be made easy or difficult by the types of contractors one has available to work with and the local officials who do the inspections. Any comments or information would be greatly appreciated.
