The Black Point Inn (Prouts Neck) is beautifully located and a charming and elegent sea side Inn. It has gorgeous views. It is also near Old Orchard Beach which has a pier and amusement park atmosphere....if you really want that. It is also close to Portland which is a beautiful old city with lots to do and lots of historic charm and first class resturants. I read your list and immediately thought of Block Island, RI, and the Spring House Hotel -- not a ferris wheel there, but, then again, you wouldn't need one. The late spring rates are low. I don't know where you are travelling from, but -- yes - Block Island seems perfect (to me) for what you describe.

Several nice places for your wedding in Boothbay Harbor. We had several family reunions at the Seagate. Not a fancy place but walking distance to the village and is right on the harbor.

I spent a week on Monhegan Island doing a photo job for the new owners of of the Monhegan House, one of the two hotels on the island a few years ago. It's kinda touristy in an island artist colony kind of way. There are roads but only locals have cars. The infamous Maine "island cars/trucks". Either hotel would be a really unique and romantic experience for a wedding plus there are a couple of B&Bs there as well. You would probably have to ferry a minister and photog in but you can call and get info on that. There is something about spending time on an island off the coast of Maine that is very relaxing and stress free.
Welcome to Monhegan - eat/shop

Did you find a minister? Sally Bullard is a wedding coordinator in Boothbay Harbor, and she can perform ceremonies. The Topside had an excellent reputation a few years back. If you're not going there, and are still looking for somewhere to stay, there is a Facebook page that lists places to get married in MAine, and one of them is an inn in the Boothbay Region. Scroll down to the description for the Newagen Inn.

Don't know if the thread is long gone, but I love the Squire Tarbox Inn on Westport Island (there's a causeway over the river. It's about 18 miles from Bath. Very old well-kept building, one of the original buildings from the days when the King of England gave land grants to people! Very romantic (except not the time I went with a dour guy...)
