Is there a website or, can anyone tell me, how much snow we've had so far this winter in my area? I'm looking for snow totals in inches. Thanks.

Thanks NMLM, that's better than what I found but, what I am curious about is just how much snow we have had total. Snow depth tells me what's on the ground now. As we've had some melting already it's not the same. I do remember a few years back (3 or4) we had something like 190 inches of snow in the Milo, dover area. I just can't seem to remember the site I used at the time to get that info. Must be "old-timers".

I found this site: RFAC: Snow Survey

I couldn't find anything on The Weather Channel or Weather Underground websites.

Check the websites of the local TV stations. Depending on which station you believe, most of southern Maine is looking for anywhere from 12-20 inches by the time the Wednesday storm is over.

I've done some more exhaustive research and found out that you now have two feet of snow.

Do you think the governor will issue a statewide emergency or just tell the storm to kiss his butt?

Snow in Maine never constitutes an emergency. It's part of life here. Cities and towns will plow the streets, ambulances and police vehicles will put their chains on. The mail might be late or they may pass you by for a day or two if you're too lazy to shovel out the approach to the mail box. Schools and stores may close for a day. So what? Emergency?? for what ? so we can use the National Guard to plow??...unnecessary. LePage is a normal non-panicky Mainer. Not a hand wringer. Emergencies should be reserved for emergencies, though now a days people think it's an emergency if Hannaford is closed.

You got that right. A winter like this is not an emergency. We've lived through a lot worse and came out with some decent stories.
