So happy for you and your family Fern! I remember when you first started posting in the Maine forum and you were planning for this move! Thank you for your service and congratulations on your move!!!
Getting old and getting a severe case of CRS. Mind like a steel sieve.

Mollysmiles, you have a great memory! Yes, my husband is in the air force.

Thank you for the welcome! Though I haven't posted often, I've been keeping up with the reading on the Maine forum. Very much enjoy the humor and experiences shared here.

In case someone does a search for truck scales in the Lewiston/Topsham area and this thread comes up, here are two good choices we found (there's probably more):

Blanchette's Moving & Storage, 32 Lexington Street, Lewiston ME (see website)

Crooker's Construction, off I-295 at the Topsham Fair Mall Road (exit 31, east side)

Also recommend Topsham Rental Center, 214 Topsham Fair Mall Road. They have all sorts of items for sale or rent.

The truck is considered vacant and full on a qualified truck scale, then we include the weight invoice with the shift documents to get refunded. It's our retirement shift from the army.

That is how things were when I was a kid, we were in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Germany, California, Germany again, and between each move was a few weeks in Eastport.
