There is no culture outside southern Maine. That one makes me want to invite the person saying it out from under their rock.

If they ride in the front loader-bucket it can balance-out the backhoe trying to lift big rocks.

Or like when you try to lift a heavy cast-iron cookstove, if it is nearly too heavy you may lift two wheels up off the ground. So you need a Maine-style woman to get on the other end as ballast to help get all four wheels on the ground.

I bought a house in Aroostook and my family thought I was crazy, buying so close to the Arctic.

The thing is, my brother moved his family to Bend, Oregon two years ago - the same Bend, Oregon where so much of the trendy growth that Oregon is currently enjoying/suffering has been going on.

Southern Aroostook or Deschutes County, Oregon - guess who's house got snow this past Saturday?

Lol, to those that act/think that Maine is the coldest place one could live in the Lower 48. 'Let's not even talk about the Dakotas, Minnesota, or Montana.

Most Maine girls make a good counter weight for pullin' stumps or what have you. Just set them in a bucket on your three point hitch and you'll never have a problem with the back end lifting.

Most of what I've read of his, I've liked. There was one though, (can't recall the title at the moment) that was just sooooooooo long and tedious that I never did finish it (which is unusual for me- I have this OCD thing where I usually feel compelled to finish any book I start).

I liked 'Tommyknockers'.

That's funny, all the messages posted seem be true. I can't really say becaues I've only known some for few years. Is it true that you are all related?
